雅思写作备考方法——如何说服别人

在雅思大作文中，考生们会经常遇到因文化背景不同所产生的思维问题的题型。

Some people think that public museums are no longer important. Do you agree or disagree?

很多同学给的立场是：I disagree with this opinion.

主体段呈现是：1个博物馆不再重要的观点以及2个博物馆依旧很重要的观点。

In some countries, more people are choosing to live alone nowadays than in the past. Do you think this is a positive or negative development?

很多同学给的立场是：I think this is a positive development.

主体段呈现是：1个此发展消极方面的观点以及2个积极方面的观点。

这种“欲扬先抑”或者“虽然 ..., 但是 ...”的手法对我们来说是很常见的，但是这种在我们看来是习以为常的表达却违反了雅思写作大作文的原则之一：

立场和主体段的观点是需要相一致。

上述题目中的“博物馆的不重要之处”和“此发展的消极方面”不仅没有论证文章的立场，反而是相违背的，那么对于整篇文章而言，并没有足够的能力去说服别人。

回到刚才的题目，In some countries, more people are choosing to live alone nowadays than in the past. Do you think this is a positive or negative development? 

由于我们的立场(thesis statement) 表达不一样，那主体段写法自然就不一样了。

方案一：

Thesis statement: In my opinion, this is a positive development.

Topic sentence 1: The rise in one-person households can be seen as positive for ...

Topic sentence 2: Apart from ... expressed above, I also believe that …

方案二：

Thesis statement: In my opinion, this trend could have both positive and negative consequences in equal measure.

Topic sentence 1: The rise in one-person households can be seen as positive for ...

Topic sentence 2: However, the arguments given above can be considered from the opposite angle.

不管我们选择的是什么样的立场，只要在文章的主体段切题地去论证就行，不要忘记我们的目的是要有力的证明自己的立场，所以最好不要写一些和证明立场无关的内容。
