雅思阅读信号词汇总

雅思考试阅读部分的文章一般篇幅都会比较长，想要一字一句的全部读完是很困难的一件事，想要在合理的时间内完成阅读任务，雅思老师们都会建议考生使用“略读+扫读”的方式浏览文章。在这个过程中，我们要抓住文章里的细节信息，其中一种重要的细节信息便是信号词。考生可以根据这些信号词来判断应该采取精读跳读或是扫读等不一样的阅读方法和技巧。我们为大家整理出了雅思阅读中常见的信号词，也标明了它们的基本含义，一起来看看吧~~~~

表达主观观点的词

主要是指say、believe、argue that、maintain that、claim、suggest等表达个人观点的词，带有主观性。比如：

Cheng and Wang conclude. ' We suggest that humour is not only enjoyable but more importantly, energising.' （剑15 T2 P3）
这里的“suggest”表明后面的话是Cheng&Wang对于“humor”的理解以及看法。那如果碰到观点匹配题，这里就有可能是答案句。

表达客观结论的词

像indicate that、found that、find out、conclude that、point out、report that、demonstrate that等表达，接的都是客观的结论和说法，比如：

'We found that moms do exactly what you'd expect and what's been described many times over,' VanDam explains.（剑13 T3 P2）
同学要注意，这种表达出来后面基本上跟的就是实验的结论或者客观的事实，如果再配上人名，那就很容易被设置成匹配类型的题目。

表示递进的词

指的是and、also、furthermore、moreover、what is more、in addition等，放在句子中让意思更进一步。举个例子：

Secondly - and very importantly - cork is a sustainable product that can by recycled without difficulty. Moreover, cork forests are a resource which support local biodiversity, and prevent desertification in the regions where they are planted. （剑12 T5 P1）

这段中后面一句就是对前一句的递进说明，软木不仅可回收，还能支持当地的生物多样性、防止荒漠化。同学们看到这些信号词之后，就可以判断前后内容是递进的关系，然后解读前后的内容。

表示转折的词

转折词大家应该都比较熟悉了，通常有：however、but、although、nevertheless、on the other hand、by comparison等。来看一段：

Farmers everywhere face major risks, ... However, smallerholder farmers in developing countries must in additon deal with adverse environments, both natural, in terms of soil quality, rainfall, etc., and human, in terms of infrastructure, financial systems, markets knowledge and technology.（剑12 T6 P1）

这类词出现就意味着前后的内容可能会有所冲突，所以经常被出题人拿来考察考生对于内容的理解，需要注意。

表示强调的词

起强调作用的表达主要有：in fact、in essence、in particular、emphasize等，打个比方：

In fact, the best educated guess we can make, using the little that we do know about the conditions for carbon-based life, lead us to estimate that perhaps one in 100,000 stars might have a life-bearing planet orbiting it.（剑9 T1 P2）

其实同学们想一下，你们在自己写作文或者练习口语的时候，是不是自己也会用到“in fact”等，向考官强调自己的观点？这套逻辑在雅思阅读中同样适用。所以看到这类词，就表示后面是作者或者研究生想要着重说明的内容，同学们就要记得理解前后内容的关系。

表示重要程度排列的词

有时候文章中的结论可能有先后或轻重之分，那么代表重要程度排列的信号词就也要相应积累：another、the most、the best等。比如：

Most important of all, the traditional measures of 'risk', such as parents' age and education, or whether they were a single parent, bore little or no relationship to the measures of achievement and language development.（剑5 T2 P1）

像句子中“most important of all”就强调了最重要的事情，也就是说文中比较重要的结论出炉了，那同学们心里就可以有个数，默默给出现这些信号词的句子标上星号提醒自己轻重缓急。

表示相似的词

还有一类信号词是作者或研究者为了读者更好地理解自己提出的观点而进一步说明的表现，比如similarly、in other words、that is、put another way等。举个例子：

We make a very conservative assumption that we are looking for a life form that is pretty well like us, since if it differs radically from us we may well not recognize it as a life form, quite apart from whether we are able to communicate with it. In other words, the life form we are looking for may well have two green heads and seven fingers, but it will nevertheless resembles us in that it should communicate with its fellows...（剑9 T1 P2）

这一段非常长，但我们可以抓住段落中间的“in other words”，来判断出，后一句是对前一句的解释或者补充说明，那同学们压力就会小很多，没有足够时间的情况下可以直接阅读后面一句来了解整体的意思。
